Niko is one of the four Mote Sisters who study under their master; Wikun, successor of the Tendo Branch of Gaming Mastery. Together, they hope to change the way the world views and experiences gaming. Because of her motion sensing and rumble features, Niko possesses a voracious appetite for batteries that is common to all four Mote Sisters.

Niko is the most competitive of the four sisters, viewing Ichiko as her eternal rival. She is perhaps even more skilled than Ichiko, but lacks the initiative to actually act on her own when lacking someone to compete against or with. Her focus rests solely on matching or surpassing the accomplishments of her sister. Niko will sometimes wear the nunchuk hat like her sister, but she prefers to use her hoverboard, the classic controller.
