Card Games - E. Wrigley's Students

For each of the following java applet projects, you will need to have the newest version of Netscape Communicator (4.08 or higher) or Microsoft Internet Explorer (4 or higher).  All of these applets use the most current version of java event modelling and therefore will not run on older browsers.  If you want to see the java source code, simply change the html extension in the URL to be java.  Enjoy!!
 

Card Games

Hi Lo Card Game by S. Steele (CIS208, May 1999) This is an excellent card game with great animations of shuffling of cards, sounds, etc.  You must choose whether the card you pick will be higher or lower than the card just turned over.  The "pot" rises as you pick more cards off the table.

Match Game by T. Hartnett (CIT130, May 2000) This is an unbelievable card game that allows the player to select from single-player mode or multi-player mode.  This definitely is a candidate for GAMELAN.  The user picks a card and then tries to pick the match for that card.  This is an extremely lengthy program.

Acey Ducey by J. Kaminski (CIT130, August, 2004) This is a game of picking high/low cards.  It incorporates many advanced concepts of Java.

Pick High Card by C. Rugola (CIT130, August, 2004) This is a game of picking high cards.  Good job !!

BlackJack Game by E. Hegerle (CIT130, December 2001) This java program plays blackjack with a beautiful design, poker chip animations, etc.  JUST FANTASTIC!!

Poker Game by J. Ferrarri (CIT130, May 2001) This java program is a wonderful Poker game.  Look at the effects!  Truly good job.

The Ring Matcher Game by V. Becker (CIT130, May 2002) This java program is a wonderful game of match the suits.  Great images, animation, sounds, etc. Truly nice job.

Poker Game by D. Howard (CIT130, May 2000) This java program is 5 Card Stud Poker.  It is a great program that allows you to select the amount of bet after you see your first card.  It pays off for high card, pairs, three of a kind, etc.   Impressive logo also.

Poker Game by B. Murawski (CIT130, May 2000) This java program plays poker and watch out because it is fun!!!!

Hearts Game by M. Perry (CIT130, December, 2002) Beat the dealers heart and win lots of points !!

Hearts Game by C. Dean (CIT130, December, 2002) Cute game of hearts with cute graphics.

Hearts Game by J. Eggert (CIT130, December, 2002) Cute hearts game .....Casino Vegas.

Hearts Game by J. Olish (CIT130, December, 2002) Nice dealing out of cards in this John's Casino game.

Cat's Casino Match the Suit Game by Steve Petrovich (CIT130, May 2002) This java program is a wonderful game with cute sounds and images.  The appearing/disappearing cards are fun !!.

Cider House Casino by Sean Petrisko (CIT130, May 2002) This java program is a match the suit game.  Nice job..

Stooges War Game by R. Kuhn (CIT130, December 2001) Very cute java WAR game with Three Stooges graphics and sounds.

War Game by L. Gold (CIT130, December 2001) Very nice WAR game with entire deck of cards dealt out and discarded one by one.  Nice job!!

Hi Lo Game by D. Kaplan (CIT130, December 2000) Beautifullly written java Hi Lo game with graphics and sounds.  CHECK THIS ONE OUT!!!!

Blackjack by A. Bursic (CIT130, May 2001) Wonderful Blackjack game..... truly a delight.

Uncle Joe's BlackJack Game by E. Shipe (CIT130, December 2000) Beautifullly written java Blackjack game.  Currently this program allows for aces to be 11 or 1 (complex logic) and allows a user to hit up to 4 cards.  Mr. Shipe is still expanding this program, but it looks great!!!

BlackJack Game by J. Allmon (CIT130, December 2000) Deal out the cards and decide if you want a hit or to stand.

Hi-Lo Game by E. Mak (CIT130, May 2000) This game uses lots of GUI elements to allow for choosing the game, bets, etc.  Listen for the shuffling sound.  Great game!!

Four Corners Card Game  by C. Lowery (CIT130, May 2000) Win credits by matching the suit or rank of the House Card.  If a card 4 shows up... you win BIG!!

Game of 98 against the House by Sibyl Myers (CIT130, May 2000) This game plays a game of 98.  I never had heard of this game but found it to be lots of fun.  Read the rules and try it --- you will like it.

Card Magic Trick by J. Stanich (CIS208, May 1999) This program includes great animation of cards and over 1000 lines of code to manipulate arrays.  The dealer deals out 16 cards on the table.  You pick a card and tell the computer which row your card is in.  The dealer will deal out the 16 cards again in a different order and ask you to pick the row your chosen card is in.  Then the computer tells you what your card is!!!

V. Payne's Card Game (CIT130, May 2001) Check this one out.

Saxoncraft Hi-Lo Game by R. Saxon (CIT130, December 2000) This is a simple game of hi-lo.  However, there are some interesting sounds in this game.  Be patient while sounds download if you have a phone modem.  Very cute!

Night Baseball Game by J. Werling (CIT130, December 2000) Interesting and different game.  If you have never played this game, there are directions.  Enjoy!!

Three of a Kind by M. Wolfe (CIT130 Fall, 1999) This is a card deck game where the objective is to get three of a kind.  The creator has included a wild card with his picture. Nice Job!!

Find the Queen of Hearts by R. Mahathey (CIT130, December 2000) Interesting game.  The cards are dealt out you must find the Queen of Hearts out of the five cards dealt. Enjoy!!

Hi Lo Card Game by J. D. Lewis (CIT130 Fall, 1999) This is a card deck game where the objective is to guess whether the second card will be higher or lower than the first card turned over.  Very nice setup!!

Blackjack Game by G. Conley (CIT130, Fall 1999) This is a card deck game where the objective is to get as close to 21 without going over.  You play against the dealer.  All cards must be turned over by player (none are automatic).  This program was written in approximately one week -- this was NOT even a project -- just an assignment.!!

Evil Draw 2000 by J. Czura (CIT130, May 2000) This java game pays off if you get 3, 4 or 5 of same suit cards.  Check out the graphics!!

Hi Lo Card Game by D. Burkhart (CIT130, May 2000) Play a fun game of hi-lo.  Uniquely programmed to give you directions to the game.

Hi Lo Card Game by J. Byers (CIT130, May 2000) This is a card deck game where the objective is to get low cards (below a 10)

Card Game called HiLo by M. Freeman (CIT130, May 2000) Try to get a card between the dealer's cards and you win!
